We are a unique internationally operating European research institute in the area of pharmaceutical process- and product-development.

Application-oriented research and development projects are carried out in collaboration with our industrial and scientific partners. It is our goal to strengthen our partners’ competitive edge and their economic success in the market by helping them develop novel products and production processes. In this area we are one of the first R&D-centres in Europe and strive to be leader in an international context.

Mission

  • Combination of multi-disciplinary knowledge from process engineering, pharmacy, chemistry, biotechnology, materials science and nanotechnology to develop a coherent scientific basis for process- and product-development.
  • Close collaboration with Austrian and international partners from the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and diagnostics industry, to develop methods for design, optimization, scale-up and control of their new manufacturing processes.
  • Integration of targeted education- and gender-mainstreaming activities
  • Technology platform for science and industry with focus on knowledge transfer.

Goal
The primary goal of RCPE GmbH is to establish Styria and Austria as the European region for pharmaceutical product- and process-development. It is our aim to transform pharmaceutical product- and process-development from an empirical approach to a rational science-based endeavour in accordance with ICH’s Quality-by-Design framework.
