RCPE has become an exceptional partner to large multinationals as well as to small and medium-sized enterprises on their complex and challenging journey to modernise pharmaceutical manufacturing. We play an integral role in linking academia and industry, translating the latest scientific developments, concepts and breakthroughs into industrial applications, creating value for companies and patients. Project teams, structure and duration are carefully chosen for each specific project to complement the individual needs and idiosyncrasies while maintaining an optimal cost efficiency.
OPPORTUNITIES & FUNDING
Our partners may choose from a variety of funded and non funded cooperation scenarios as follows:
K1 Projects
Unlike other national and international funding programs, COMET K1 funding (up to 55% of research-related project costs) does not require time-consuming application procedures and has fewer regulations: the project must simply be within RCPE’s scientific focus and new scientific know-how must be generated as a result. The project consortia has to comprise at least one scientific and two industrial partners. Due to the public funding, this cooperation scenario is particularly suitable for projects whose potential is not yet fully explored and for companies aiming to balance the risk and the investment.
NonK Projects
NonK projects are implemented within the non-sponsored project area, and the project costs have to be fully covered by the project consortium. A big advantage of NonK projects is that they are not bound by any regulations and can be customized to the needs of a specific client. Funded NonK projects offer an opportunity to significantly reduce the costs of a NonK-project by applying to national and international funding programs (e.g., Framework Program of the European Union).
Within the scope of Contractual Research Projects (Service Projects), RCPE acts as a contractor and provides specific services to one or more clients that fully cover the costs without any internal or external funding.

RCPE’s strategic partnerships focus on clients that are interested in long-term cooperations, utilization of synergies, and the combination of complementary expertise to enhance each other’s business. Each strategic partnership is evaluated on a case-by-case basis, aiming to achieve a perfect alignment in spirit, vision and culture.
