The Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering (RCPE) is a globally recognized, independent and not-for-profit research company at the forefront of pharmaceutical process and product development. We deliver innovative, tailor-made solutions for the pharmaceutical industry – covering everything from sophisticated in silico prediction and formulation to upscaling in our state-of-the-art pilot plant. Challenges such as limited stability, cold-chain requirements, and high unit costs continue to severely restrict access to these life-saving nanomedicines.

Our Shareholders
RCPE’s ownership structure is unique: we are a private, non-profit company jointly owned by Graz University of Technology (49%), the University of Graz (36%), and the non-university, public research organization Joanneum Research GmbH (15%). This ensures our complete independence from the pharmaceutical industry and positions us as a neutral, publicly owned research organization.
Our Public Funding Partners
RCPE is funded under the K1 COMET Program (Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies), an Austrian flagship initiative designed to promote outstanding, application-oriented research and development in key technology areas. The COMET Program is jointly funded by the Austrian federal government, the federal states, participating companies, and research organizations.
